Christmas Eve at an Italian American table means the Feast of the Seven Fishes: baccalà salad, fried calamari, shrimp scampi, mussels marinara, linguine with clams, scungilli, stuffed branzino. Easter means lasagna, lamb, ricotta pie. Sunday means gravy on the stove since 7am with meatballs, sausage, and braciole. A&S Italian Deli & Bakery caters all of it for Fort Lauderdale families who’d rather host the meal than spend three days cooking it.
We’ve been doing Italian holiday catering in Fort Lauderdale since the Maltese family opened A&S Prime Meats & Deli in the 1980s. The recipes haven’t changed. Same gravy. Same meatballs. Same fried calamari. Same ricotta pie. Order early — Italian holidays book up weeks in advance.
Christmas Eve — Feast of the Seven Fishes Catering
The traditional Italian American Christmas Eve menu, available as a full feast or à la carte:
- Baccalà salad (salt cod with celery, olives, lemon)
- Fried calamari with marinara & lemon
- Shrimp scampi over linguine
- Mussels marinara or fra diavolo
- Linguine with white clam sauce
- Stuffed flounder with crab
- Whole roasted branzino or salt-baked snapper
- Antipasto board to start, struffoli and panettone to finish
Order by December 18. Christmas Eve catering pickup December 24, 9am–2pm. Limited delivery slots.
Easter Catering
- Leg of lamb, slow-roasted with rosemary & garlic
- Lasagna Bolognese or vegetable lasagna pan
- Stuffed artichokes Sicilian-style
- Ricotta pie (pastiera napoletana)
- Easter bread (pane di Pasqua) with colored eggs
- Antipasto board, pasta pan, dessert tray to round out the spread

Sunday Gravy Dinner Catering
The classic Italian American Sunday dinner, packaged for delivery any week of the year:
- Quart of A&S Sunday gravy (red sauce simmered with pork & beef)
- Housemade meatballs (1 dozen, 1.5 oz each)
- Italian sausage (hot or sweet, by the pound)
- Braciole (rolled, stuffed beef in gravy)
- Penne or rigatoni pasta pan
- Side of broccoli rabe sautéed with garlic & oil
- Fresh-baked semolina bread & whipped ricotta
Serves 6–10. ~$22/person.

When to Book Italian Holiday Catering in Fort Lauderdale
Holiday catering at A&S is first-come, first-served. Here’s our typical booking calendar:
- Christmas Eve / Christmas Day: book by December 15. Major items (whole branzino, prime rib, lamb) sell out earlier.
- Easter: book by the Monday of Holy Week. Lamb sells out first.
- New Year’s Eve: book by December 26.
- Thanksgiving: book two weeks ahead for Italian sides.
- Sunday gravy / weekly dinners: 48 hours notice.
